Notes In this experimental container, Walter Balliet, a retired master machinist, used a pumping chuck with a swashplate attachment he constructed for his ornamental lathe. The decoration of the top portion of the base is the result of two reciprocations. The lower portion results from the action of a rose engine attachment. He uses these plates on many of the objects he currently produces.
